barbara wien ist galeristin, buchhändlerin, verlegerin und herausgeberin und hat von 1979 bis 2006 eng mit tomas schmit zusammengearbeitet. in ihrem beitrag zu unserem oral-history projekt stellt sie die kunstwerke vor, die tomas schmit im zentrum seiner bibliothek aufbewahrte. sie spricht dabei u.a. über die fluxus-edition water yam (1963) von george brecht, die tomas schmit 1962/63 im auftrag von george maciunas herstellte, die name-box tomas schmit: spell your name with these objects (1976), die er in den 1970er jahren von maciunas geschenkt bekam, und über eine schallplatte, die er in den 1980er jahren von dieter roth erhielt.

dieser zuvor unveröffentlichte mitschnitt dokumentiert ein konzert von sven-åke johansson in der ausstellung von tomas schmit 1982 in der galerie jes petersen in berlin. er wurde 2025 auf lp als lp-edition in der edition telemark in zusammenarbeit mit der galerie barbara wien und dem tomas schmit archiv veröffentlicht und ist zugleich der dritte beitrag zu unserem oral-history. restexemplare der edition können über die galerie barbara wien, den musikvertrieb a records oder das label telemark bestellt werden.
barbara wien is a gallery owner, bookseller, publisher and editor, and worked closely with tomas schmit from 1979 to 2006. in her contribution to our oral history project, she presents the artworks that tomas schmit kept at the heart of his library. among other things, she discusses the fluxus edition water yam (1963) by george brecht, which tomas schmit produced in 1962/63 on commission from george maciunas, the name-box tomas schmit:spell your name with these objects (1976), which he received from george maciunas as a gift in the 1970ties, and a record, which he received from dieter roth in the 1980ties.
